  1. FINALLY a video for all you cheapskates out there! These work out of the box and most are on Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/shop/smarthomesolver/list/1Q6HYSGUNF697?ref_=cm_sw_r_cp_ud_aipsflist_XJBFPBYJPN4ETJ6377J8

  2. I subscribed hoping you do this kind of video round-up every year 👍🏻

  3. What are you talking about? The ikea button works great with ZHA. I have been using them for over a year with no issue

  4. 4:41 I have that rugby doorbell and you can enable HDR for it.

  5. Great look at a variety of devices Reed! How did you get Eufy cameras into HA?

  6. Another awesome video, Reed! Thanks again for shouting out our small company and our Works With Home Assistant certified sensors! We are happy to answer any questions!

    Best,
    Justin

  7. I am not sure why IKEA is an issue, I have multiple motion sensors and buttons connected to HA. the battery runs out quickly though

  8. I primarily use IKEA buttons and they all work with ZHA for me 🤔

  9. Those IKEA smart buttons works absolutely fine with Zigbee2MQTT 🙂
I use a lot of IKEA smart remote controller (those with the play, volume up, volume down, etc buttons..) instead of wall switches and beside the "main" funcion what does the same as the regular wall switch was doing at the same place earlier, I got 6 additional buttons (2 with doubleClick and 4 with "long press" functions too).
I highly suggest those "remotes" 🙂
.. and those remotes also uses 2 AAA batteries (and works fine since about 15 months with the first sets of cheap batteries)

  10. The Aqara P1 is the worst I've ever had Hands off this shit!!!

  11. Do you know about any zigbee device that can measure sound levels? I want to make automation based on the level of noise in a room, but I cannot find a zigbee device with such entity…

  12. Most WiFi devices have pretty horrible connectivity, especially cheaper ones, but for the price, and if it is in a non-critical place, they can be nice to have.
Given Matter supports power monitoring, the devices that do not support this via Matter may get a firmware update, but in this price range likely not and they will remain not fully matter compliant

  13. Don't forget the ESP lite for mmWave. Only $38.

  14. The Valhorn motion sensor is actually the best, and it's cheaper than the 2 mentioned. Runs on 2 AAA batteries, has 15s cooldown and integrates a light sensor. It's pretty much the Phillips Hue motion sensor minus the temperature probe at 1/5th the price!

  15. 9:30 You can buy rechargeable coin cells, they don't last very long, but they're okay for anything that eats batteries.

  16. Man, I love my Kasa lights and light switches, but they don't make canned lights. I wanted to have the same brand so my Home Assistant would be easier to set up… Govee, which I love their water sensor, temperature monitor etc.., I wish worked better with Home Assistant too. I love their outside lighting and Christmas lights.. Also, I went with Philips Hue canless lights inside.. Why can't I just get everything from 1 company? lol

  17. IKEA smart buttons actually work really well with HA. Rodret is the name of the button and there's a HA blueprint with even more functions then "as sold". They have them in IKEA for €5!! It must be the best and cheapest button out there!

  18. @3:50 this has been my go to recommendation lately

  19. All of my IKEA sensors paired to home assistant ZHA just fine. I use every single one IKEA makes. If you want help or to see what I'm doing let me know. I like the IKEA because they are rated to handle some water, so I keep some outdoors.

  20. I added a magnet that has a screw attached to it and put it on the back of my third reality motion sensor. works great.

  21. They're not as cheap, but you can buy rechargeable coin cell batteries.
