All right let’s hear it! Team Google, or Amazon? Or maybe Siri?! Let me know your pick👇👇
I chose Alexa I have an Android but Alexa seemed like the better choice because I mostly wanted it for entertainment
I have been using both for years and I can say Google’s AI understands colloquial and natural speech commands much better than Alexa. Things like “turn off all the lights downstairs” vs Alexa would respond “you don’t have a device called ‘all the lights downstairs’. “ Similarly, I can say “raise the temperature 2 degrees,” and Google would increase my thermostat. Alexa would not.
Where Alexa beats Google is in the ability to create non-verbal device triggers (like a real smart hub), where Google’s automation still limited to voice commands as triggers.
Sorry bro….but Google is the past, now and the future…
The weather one says it's different than the other which one is telling the truth
I have Alexa, but Im planning to buy Google Home, I have an Android and its just easier with Google Home
I just bought the 5 gen echo dot, and it is pretty good
Easy access to changing wake words, not bad. Sounds amazing too
Google is the best
I accidentally enabled the Whisper mode on Echo and one night watching TV, I must have said the wake word and it whispered back. Scared the crap outta me. I immediately disabled it… creepy…🤣
It’s worth noting that a google set up is still great if you are iPhone users.
The home app works as it should and we can voice command everything from every room. Just one google hub and minis in each room.
Nice North Macedonia t-shirt.
I am Team Google and also Apple HomeKit. Not a fan of Bezos on any level.
I have both so every thing fine
I was gifted a Google hockey puck and started my smart home adventure with some smart bulbs, switches and plugs. I needed a new clock for my bedroom so I liked and purchased a Echo Dot with clock 5th gen. So i'm team both I guess. Still getting my feet wet with both units. I am considering a Nest Hub or the Amazon Show, size to be determined. Haven't decided which one I want yet. Stay tuned. Thanks for your very informative video.
I also mainly use Amazon devices, but still have a couple of Google devices. They all have pros and cons, and I use them for different purposes.
I have eight Google Mini

I absolutely love Alexa
I use both.
Google. I'm minimalist, so have a nest mini hidden in every room so I can search google by voice. A nest hub in the bedroom as a picture frame, alarm clock. A google floodlight guarding my car and lighting the back garden. And a google cam above the front door that works well with the house PIR porch light and regular door bell. Everything is low maintenance and non-invasive. I paid a £50 year subscription for 30 day video storage.
Unfortunately, I've had nothing but trouble with the Google family of speakers. Their firmware updates are horrendous. My speakers don't play as a group because of their latest firmware updates. Lately, I can't add speakers to my Google home because of the latest firmware updates. I don't recommend Google Home or their Nest products until they resolve their firmware issues.
Alexa is the smartest !
Google home
I've got 2 google nest mini and will have a google nest hub in the house at Christmas. There's also one amazon echo dot
I'll be honest. i'm not sure you gave google a fair shot.. some of the things you say it cant do , we do? .. Of course, I COULD TOTALLY BE MISUNDERSTANDING what you said.. LOL.. very possible !!!
But my wife is far from computer savvy.. and she set google up so when she says GOODNIGHT to google.. it automatically says to her.. goodnight, and asks her what time she wants to set the alarm for? (she says "no alarm" on weekends) .. and then google shuts all the lights in the house off, and plays her spa music for 1 hour before shutting off. ( think it does a few other things she has it do at night) .. but we've had it for a long time and haven't found NOTHING I can't do with it? ( course I'm sure that's limited by what I do LOL )
I didn't understand you telling google to pause you have to shut it off? I tell mine to pause it pauses, I say to continue playing music and it does? . EIther way..
Not to mention.. unless you didn't see the news on Alexa, it LOST 10 BILLION Dollars in 2022 .. so I'm not feeling the warm fuzzies.. if they drop it all!!
Team amazon. I do use blink doorbell and cameras though. In my opinion just as good if not better than ring.
I highly disagree with you amazon gives out videos of your house with there ring door bell's
Okay, this video has swayed me to get all Smart Home devices with Amazon; HOWEVER, I really like the Nest Learning Thermostat. Am I able to still incorporate the Nest Thermostat if I purchase all other amazon devices for alarm and security????
And now Amazon Echo Shows have ads! Ads every minute, some only seconds apart. Say 'Thank you' to Alexa now and she replies with an Avatar ad! Google is quality, even a sense of humor. Smarter, much smarter. And Google has NO ADS!
I know this video is a year old, but Google has routines that work very well. Especially when combined with Philips hue products.
i have build my smart home whit HA and googel what have happen since you did the video
Having both I find Google understands what I am saying much better, the query feature on Google is much better as well. I waited 6 months and will now upgrade to Google smart system throughout the house.
Hey Reed just a heads up that the reason Google stopped Nest secure is because they are now partnered with ADT since 2021. More to come soon!
Are family of six is an Apple user and we use ALEXAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!! By the way Alexa is the best friendly assistant 🥰
