Awesome Tips Scientific Tuesdays – Modern Day Alchemy (Electroplating)
Electroplating is basically a process where you cover a surface with a thin layer of metal that has been transfered from another object. We’ll be taking it to a very basic level using vinegar, salt and a battery. You also might want to get a couple coins ready.

We can turn lead into gold! You just need to bombard the nucleus of a lead atom until you get stabil isotop of gold. It requiers a lot of energy, but it's technicly possible
that quarter was from 1945. It actually has silver in it. You copper plated a semi-silver quarter. You ever heard that joke about getting your gold medal bronzed?
man, these were the days eh!
alchemy is spiritual. transmuting lead to gold is a process of purifying. Saturn is represented by lead, and the sun by gold. all 7 of the visible heavenly bodies represent a certain level of enlightenment, and correlate with the 7 major processes in alchemical transformation. its not disproven, only misunderstood.
The Philosophers Stone was never debunked or disproven, the recipe simply has not been found by modern science. People wrote down what the recipe could do and it wasn't just one person who wrote about it at one point in time… it has been written about for thousands of years. People don't record these things for no reason and you can bet your arse that people didn't write stories of this recipe on a big slab of emerald for no reason.

the law of alchemy is the law of equivalent exchange what did the quarter give to have that. Was it a leg and an arm?
Alchemy, Economy, Morals…
Human kind can not gain anything without first giving something in return, It is impossible to create something out if nothing. To obtain something of equal value must be lost. That is Alchemy's first law of equivalent exchange, the basis of all alchemy… The science of understanding, deconstructing, and reconstructing matter. However, there are some things you just cannot ever obtain.
My own spin on the Fma quote mixed with the FMAB Quote and some of my own…
Dude my magic lv is 99, i can high alch all day. Get on my lv.
I thought is would look bronze like the penny?!
FINALLY NOW I CAN. BECOME THE FULLMETAL ALCHEMIST
now we need HUMAN TRANSMUTAION
Awesome
this is interesting
@HouseholdHacker I neeed that '44 penny for my collection…. 🙁
Why did you have to use special collector coins? (Wheat penny, 1945 Quarter, FRANKLIN HALF DOLLAR). Fucking waste.
will copper wire work plz comment or reply
why do you have glasses
But the black coin still looks cool!
Try a car battery
Shit man. It works?????……..
Can i do the same thing with gold i want to gold plate a coin
since when in the name of Sam Hell did science get in the business of DISproving anything? no experiment proves a negative, which is just poor linguistic structuring. in any case, alchemy was and is an esoteric tradition which uses metalworking as metaphor to describe psychological transmutations. in an era when The Church would have stake burnt the practices of modern science and psychology the requirement for elaborate coding was a mode of survival. on the other hand, the pragmatic aspects of old alchemy did give rise to modern chemistry, or so the story goes that i accept.
Alchemy was not entirely disproven. Through the process of artifical nuclear transmutation; an isotope of Mercury (Hg) has absorbed high energy neutrons and decayed into stable Gold (Au)… just saying.
You can turn lead into gold. It's just that it's so expensive, the gold is relatively worthless.
Nope. Graphene FTW
actually, you can turn lead into gold.
Here In canada could you use a loonie instead of a penny the stopped making pennys but i want a golld colour coin
How'd he do that without a transmutation circle!?!
I'm pretty sure he used the philosopher stone.. Or he made the red water into a stone. Where's the equivalent exchange?
Full metal alchemist is alchemy … The philosopher stone(if I'm correct) is a part of alchemy …everyone probly already knew this
ikr!!!!
This is full metal Alchimest in real life.
lol that's what i thought
you can plate a battery as long as you have the nodes at the ends exposed
Almost everybody here is here because of fma! XD
no transmutation circles!
I thought it was ganna be like fullmetal alchemist too
That quarter was a 1945 90% silver quarter! Why would you do that!?!
Is it possible to do it the other way around? Like, covering a penny with nickel?
You know it! 😀
