Concrete as porous as it is, will crack but not always explode when its heated long and hot enough to do so, but you can always buy a bag of Stucco which is quite heat resistant and just as easy to use and strong as concrete, or you could coat the concrete with it afterward before using it. If you do something like this, you may want to add some holes in the bottom to let air in so the fire keeps going.

Correct me if I'm wrong.. At the end he said it would radiate heat out. But I'm pretty sure that radiation is when heat RADIATS with out any particles. For example the sun radiates light energy and heat energy down to earth because there are no particles in space
