Did they upgrade Prius drivers as well? Asking for a friend.

  1. This is the first time I actually want a Prius! 😍

  2. I have a 2014 prius, over the last 4 years I've stuffed 2 full sized sofas and a new dryer in the back and made it home in one piece much to the disbelief of the store owners…pfft who says they don't have utility!

  3. I can definitely see subtle Lamborghini Huracan design influences from a side profile. Very good looking car!

  4. I was gonna buy me a SUV but… I guess I will buy this instead.

  5. Old prius i will just walk by unnoticed but the new one will for sure making me turning my head if i ever see one on street

  6. That's the best looking door stop yet!

I wish this guy would just show the car and give its stats. I could care less about his personal opinions.

1:53 Side profile looks like a mixture of the latest Volt and a Tesla model 3.
36 miles electric range is also close to the range of the 2014 volt and similar years. Now let's watch how the Prius will surpasses the sales of the volt. GM should not have gotten rid of it, now Toyota is capitalizing on their idea.

  7. If the prius has a luxury feel (at least on the higher trims) and quiet cabin then I'd consider trading away my 13' Avalon.

  8. It looks like it has lost utility (rear cargo room) and rear head room.

  9. Wait until you try to clean the inside of that super slanted windshield.

  10. LOL, why did you even mention tesla? tesla is not a hybrid, shouldn't you be comparing it to other hybrids?

does it have catalytic converter cage from the factory?

    COOOOOOOOLLLLEEEEEEEYYYY

  11. You almost have to go out of your way to make a car as ugly and unappealing as the old Prius. This one looks like a Tesla and is pretty fast, I would buy one if I weren't going to buy an EV! What took them so long to figure out that that good looks and speed were important? It must be the success of Tesla driving this change!

The most fuel efficient car in America is an electric, not a ICE car. 58 miles per gallon is NOTHING compared to the MPGe of electric cars and not even close to the MPGe of electric motorcycles AND yes, because the trolls come out and say "what about dirty grids." the statement above STILL holds up even in a 100% coal grid. electric is just better and small vehicle electric even beats fully electric public transportation.

  12. Yes, nice. But.. deal breaker for drivers over 6 foot three. Not a whole lot of headroom goin on there.

  13. Unfortunately. Toyota bet the farm on Hybrid so this Prius won't sell as well as it would if it was pure EV. Why should people buy an overly complicated hybrid when they can buy a EV for the same price (well, maybe not in the USA, but elsewhere)?

  14. This new prius is ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL — Great work Toyota!!!;) However, still saving up for a full BEV NO DOUBT. Come on toyota where is your BEV rav4, prius, corolla, and camry, a LOT of people would line up to buy that!!!;)

  15. The new Prius looks amazing on the outside but the interior looks horrible, hopefully they made the back seat more confutable. This car doesn't get me excited.

  16. Do a drive test then😅

  17. I love this guy's takes on cars and evs. Just real!

  18. When is the Camry going to get a prime version? And why didn’t toyota do a 1.5l or even a 2.0l turbo in the Prius?

  19. Prius always looked like an horizontal refrigerator not an electric or hybrid fan but definitely a good improvement. Good to see Brian Cooley.

Looks like i'll be trading in my 2014 nissan altima for a prius

Doesn't do much good MPG wise on the highway.

  20. I thought that new "ash" colour looks great 🤷‍♂

  21. It looks like a Chevy Volt and it burns gas. How much is Toyota paying these people? It's an short range EV that drags around a useless transmission, gas tank, exhaust system and engine. It has the same MPG as a 1980 Honda.

  22. 1:52 It looks like a sports car. Now, if the headrests are comfortable and the rear visibility is improved it'll sell even more than it is now.

  23. How much?

  24. I dread that this is another chapter , a final chapter for Toyota and the auto industry.

The Prius looks great, but they went down the market rabbit hole of making cars bigger, heavier and flashier… More expensive, more profits.

What made the Prius popular back in the day was Less is More with more than surprising practicality and efficiency. Owners love the car for what it can do, not how others will perceive them as so many reactionaries and air heads think.

And said prius owners like to add lift kits to their cars and put on taller tires.

Big flashy 19" alloys are only good a few things. Practicality, efficiency, cost and durability are not among them.

  25. Well it's the first time a Prius is actually nice looking.

  26. I don't like this trend of lowering the cars. Visibility in a sedan is bad when a giant SUV is next to your car. They need to raise the cars a couple inches.

  27. What else matter in a car but RELIABILITY?

  28. hope I can buy one for msrp ??

  29. This Cnet guy is pretty hot.

  30. After rehired the German design firm: Kammang and Lange something? that originally designed gen 2 Prius to redesigned previous year ugly C series failures to: wha competitors but its own older gen models??

  31. Best looking Prius yet, and finally no longer a slug. It remains to be seen how the pricing comes out, because the Rav4 Hybrid is not that expensive, and if they are close the vast majority will pick the Rav4 which is much more spacious.

  32. To bad the want $40000 for it.

  33. Hydrogen will win in developing regions.

Electrical will win in western developed regions.

  34. Nice shirt.

  35. It’s still not an attractive car, at least not to me. The headlights are a Toyota-only flavor of weird and the rear quarter panel shows how stubborn the designers are when it comes to dropping those ugly sharp lines they so love to put in their cars. Still, it’s much much better than before. I’m disappointed Toyota is still mostly leaning on ICE and hybrids in their lineup. Few (if any) PHEVs and only a single BEV. It’s nearly 2023. I think their resistance to switching their cars to more electric power trains will seriously hinder me (and a lot of people) from considering their cars now or ever in the future. It’s a serious turn-off.

You can't even get the Toyota RAV4 anyway..

  36. I have the 2010 prius and this new one is making me considering upgrading 🤔

  37. Standard response: looks sharp but they should have BEV Prius, get off gasoline!

  38. If only the panoramic roof opened. But still looks great overall.
