I pulled fiber optic cable 10 miles just last month. Company wanted instantaneous updates from the soybean extractor outside of town so we had to dig a trench 7 miles long and then run pvc pipe through the towns storm sewers and then trench up their corporate front lawn. It was a pretty exciting pull, and we had to do it in sections, obviously, because there was no way the fiber could have withstood 10 miles of cable on one end and 15 horse tugger on the other.
