It doesn't need an electrical charge from your fingers, in fact it's the other way around – it's your finger that saps the charge from the touch screen. Realistically, you only need to dissipate the charge, not to get it to your finger. So if your gloves are double layered, you can keep the internal layer intact, while simply soldering a diode to the metallic thread. Soldering irons can be rented, solder and diodes can be bought in electrical stores, all dirt cheap. And who knows, if the diode is built for low enough voltage, it might even light up with every tap! Cool. Also, that means you don't have to use actual metal that can scratch your screen – any conductive material will do. Maybe a silicone plug, or a silicon ball?

It's cool that you are able to do this but if you have a few dollars to spend you might as well buy some new touchscreen gloves and spare your trouble making your own.

Just get yourself some thermal paste (for processors) and rub it on the fingers of your gloves. Boom. Touchscreen gloves.
That's an amazing idea. My only concern is if the Metallic String will scratch the screen of the phone.

Sony phones have ' glove mode' which works really well. But I recommend this to my friends who do have Sony and they can now use there phones with out frost bite. great Video!

Easier solution; fingerless gloves.
Well I just put a lil water on the glove and ta-dah done cause I don't have wires besides me right now
Tip: make it damp not wet cause otherwise it's going to leave water streaks or drops on your screen
