i have paired i5 12400f with Msi PRO B660M-G DDR4.. is it ok for gaming? Good pairing?
i am hitting 83c (31c ambient) mosfet temp on cinebench.i think that’s not good.
12700f is probably the most interesting cpu to pair with B660 taken the board wont power throttle the cpu. The combo will outperform i5 12600K with Z690 motherboard at a lower price. I wouldn't go with MSI though since the pricing is totally off the charts. It doesn't make sense to buy a B660 that costs almost as much as a cheaper Z690 motherboard. ASRock B660M Pro RS is probably the best board when comes to price/performance to pair a locked i7 with.

this board has very good vrm and i love it
The 12VO spec could also make sense in a gaming rig, because people do not only game on their computers. Yes, you still need 5 and 3v drive outputs from the motherboard for compatibility, but at some time they will also fade away like floppy or optical drives did in most computers.
Do you guys will ever plan making a b660 itx mobos
The new chipsets are definitely getting me more interested in a 12600k build. Though GPUs are still a big sore spot with what they were priced at the last time I got a GPU (MSI 1060 6GB).
