Man sounds like Linus
me with a 980 PRO yes is fast
"We have 3 M.2 SSDs"
*proceeds to show 3 M.2 NVMEs*
Me who can't trust Wd because i lost 100Gb of data to a Hdd.
Why he sound like linus
mid grade items to me is better i hate overprice stuff
Yo Linus, I recently got a super cheap Xbox 360 HDD. I tried to download some games, but it was super slow. Is that just how they are, or is my internet just being weird?
We can celebrate having 2TB for $130…
Have to be careful for your own application/motherboard, some boards might run any 2 nvme drives at the slowest drives rated speed. A Gen 4 and a Gen 3 mixed together on the same board might run both at Gen3 speeds. Even if it is a Gen4 motherboard. A good reason to scan through the motherboards manual before the purchase.
Can you please do one for PS5????! Please? I’ve been debating about getting the wd black or the wd PlayStation specific one that’s more expensive
Get Samsung.
TLDR: Newer SSD's are cheaper to make because of certain tech breakthroughs
Examples
Samsung 960 Evo 1 tb: $219
Samsung 980 pro 1 tb : $119
Need a longer version of this. I've been trying to get one but still not sure which one to choose.
In no way did this make anything more clear…
50
I love this guy.
And if you want more storage….
Who ripped you off on that WD Black? I have a pair of SN750 1TB that I got new from Office Depot, over a year ago, for that price, I run them in raid0, and get over 9GBps reads and writes.
They are my game drive.
Well, this short didn't answer much. In fact, just the opposite.
This topic is getting old but still useful to talk about every year or so.
Just how fast of an SSD do people really need? Space only matters if you buy a 500gb or smaller. Since they tend to have worse speeds due to fewer chips. But 1tb and higher, you just want to know how well it moved 50gb at one time. And hiw well it can move lots of small files. These are the most common things for the vast majority of people. Since it's like you're backing up a video or moving a bunch of photos and audio or even text files.
Bro doesn't know about memory types 💀
Samsung 970 Evo plus is pretty good
It's not about the read speed but the write speed. GG on not showing those.
for the most gamer kids is the 0.2$ SSD enough
So the more expensive ones last longer but perform "way worser" ? I guess I would rather something that actually did what I needed it to do for a short period of time opposed to something that didn't for a lot longer..
When you take a WD product as “the expensive one” why do you even expect any kind of performance……
Well this certainly help resolve the confusion
Its easy use Samsung evo for mush write and for Mush read and running time crucial thats it.
I always go for Kingston. Not even once their product failed on me. Affordable and reliable.
WD sells more brand than quality
*(I have a WD black Nvme, it was the better choice at the time)
The samsung 990 pro m.2 is amazing
Shorts is just such a fked up format.
Where is the test showing the expensive one will last longer?
WD always rips you off
This comment was made by the HDD gang
This is an embarrassment to the LMG brand
I just use a 980
This video is a complete joke. You bought the wrong SSDs lmao.
NEVER BUY FROM ALI EXPRESS PEOPLE
I GOT MULTIPLE HARD DRIVES THERE AND THEY ALL BROKE WITHIN A COUPLE WEEKS
This only muddied the waters worse for people who don't know about SSD's. I know the differences, but you didn't do much to clear it up for anyone trying to learn.
You got an old Wd black and that one definitely isn’t worth 200.
Crucial makes actually good and affordable stuff! I had their ram and it out lasted other components.
this video is so missleading…why only comparing a wd black and only the 512gb model? which btw where on earth did you find it for 200? everyone sells it for less than half that price
it's like you just wanted to make this narrative work to clickbait, but yet didn't care to fully mislead so many because of not showing the full context of this specific comparison and claim
Samsung EVO for me
It's because the higher price ssd has dram cache which increases longevity but slightly hinders read and write speeds over a dramless ssd since once the dram is full the drive has to wait for it to write out dram content before it can be loaded with more data where as a dramless just writes all the data as soon as it receives it but this lowers longevity because it's constantly writing to the drive
And we have a $30 Linus from AliExpress
I thought it was Linus for a second
