Avisynth with NNEDI3 (Neural Network Edge Directed Interpolation 3) for upscaling and MVTools for linear interpolation (frame rate conversion) is still a better alternative.

It honestly doesn't look that much better. Especially when you take into account how much extra space the video takes up. And call me crazy but isn't 720p still considered pretty decent quality? Like if this could take an old VHS home movie and make it 720p quality that would be great. Taking a 720p video and up scaling to 4K seems kind of pointless, to me anyways.

A few years later, I up-sampled (using Topaz 🙂) & cleaned it up frame-by-frame & re-posted it. A year ago, Vanilla Ice posted my up-sampled copy to his official page. A thank-you would’ve been nice, but I’ll settle for knowing what I’ve contributed to society 😊

I'd like to know where I can get a dummies guide to convert old vhs stuff to 4k remastered 60fps?
Also how I would do it with a downloaded 4k movie…would the quality and/or conversion be easier if I got the hard copy 4k dvd movie and converted off that instead of the download?
