Upgrading your gpu is always game specific. It depends on the game you play the most and if a 4000 series gpu will give you a significant performance boost (if the game you play supports dlss 3.0 frame generation)
Gamers are going to figure out 5vyears too late that they aren't the only ones buying silicon.

Im currently using GTX 1070 for years and I think its time for me to upgrade. I've been waiting for years to get the best value for my money based on the performace difference of my current gpu to current gpu generation. Still thinking if its now worth to make the jump. I'll be using it mainly in my job as a video editor and also for some gaming. Sucks that 4070 ti price is at $1000+ in my country.

Don't get why people are so mad at this card, it offers great performance for less than 3090Ti is retailing for, or even used on eBay, so why hate this product so much? Surely, pre-pandemic prices were different, but everything gone up in price, not just the GPUs, I'm hoping the 50 series will stay on this price lvl, I wouldn't be naive and believe the nvidia or amd will bring their current pricing down by much.

For a brand new release, seems to be a lot of rtx4070TI in stock when checking a few retailers. Don't recall that when the RTX3070TI was released.
I've set myself a steep goal for my 1st pc £1600 it may be alot but its my dream pc gigabyte 3060ti vision graphics card amd 5600 cpu 750 Watts psu Samsung 980 Pro memory a expensive nxzt cpu cooler (ik its not the best but I'm going for looks) that rlly goof lion o11 case evon I this it is and corsair white 16 gb 3200 ram and that Asus 550 mother board thing forgot the name

My watercooled Asus ROG Strix LC 3090ti runs very cool and quiet and I got it at a really good price!!!

in canada the strix 4070 ti is $1499 lol soo overpriced, 799 usd to cad is 1069, so 400 extra for a strix on Newegg.
The Strix 4070 ti is €1200 where i am You can get a 4080 for around €200 more. The Strix 4080 however is €1800. I think i will leave Asus cards alone this time round sadly 🤑 Hope all these prices drop sooner than later.
The problem is not the performance but price.
