Mixed-Up Mother Goose… that might be the game I've been looking for, actually! There's a super old, as you said, point and click adventure game that I used to play that had something about Mother Goose in the title. A couple of the screenshots look vaguely similar to what I remembered of it. I must have had the deluxe version. I've been trying to find that again for ages! One issue I see with releasing source code for games if the company is still active: Using matrix online as an example. Monolith may be using that code because we have been using the same code base since the 90s, so theoretically like with the source engine leak it can be considered a risk to future costumers if they don't commit to open sourcing or ensuring any exploits are patched at least for future games. But this only makes sense for games based on codebases still in active development.

I was made homeless during the virus due to rent gouging. With so many people leaving the lock down states to the OPEN FREE state of FLORIDA my rent went from $1250usd to $2000usd and when I reminded slumlord that I'm disabled and fixed income she offered 150 off even with discount it was still more then my monthly payment.
Love the quarter every hour analogy. My dad actually made me do the same thing (a jar next to the computer) in the early 2000s when we still had a modem to make me understand the cost of using the internet. Back then the evening price was only around 20% of the day price so I would usually wait an hour or two after school before connecting to get more time online.
Why would anyone pay for Youtube? The whole point of Youtube since day 1 is not to pay.
