Yep it’s true, Indiana Jones and the Great Circle is the first game that was developed from the ground up to use Ray Tracing… not just as an OPTION to make the lighting a little more realistic… but as a core – REQUIRED – component of the game. Does that mean every game’s FPS is gonna suffer? Or are we going to enter a golden age of Ray Traced Bliss where we can no longer tell the difference between reality and the metaverse? Do we all need NEW Graphics Cards?

  1. Purchase your next drive from Server Part Deals at https://serverpartdeals.com/ltt or use code ltt5off for $5 off any order

  2. Easy fix I use is Xbox pass untimate from cd keys and play it throught the cloud on my gtx 1070 pc…and it's cheaper that buying the game…

  3. 0:26 Computationally and financially

  4. ngreedia is selling visual artifacts for over $2000.

  5. still got a gtx1080ftw by evga here, would you go for an upgrade ? i run games at 3440×1440 with pretty decent framerates (obv not at highest settings).

  6. Rtx "old tech" but still cant work on 60 frames without "help". Maybe it can but with 2000$ card🤣

  7. Well I'm not buying it..

  8. Clickbait garbage. You really think game devs will alienate anyone not running an rtx card. Have a downvote.

  9. "Cinematic Realism" is a gigantic oxymoron

  10. I laughet so hard at Riley waht a comedy ahahahha

  11. Everyone saying that X GPU was never 4K capable dont understand that it's not the resolution exclusively in those cases, it's the combination of RT and path tracing thats super demanding when used at high resolutions.

The 3090, 4090 and 5090 are 4K capable cards… but path tracing is a bitch to run. I say go back to pre baked lighting methods instead, or at least give people the option of doing that. Then you will see many mid tier GPU become 4K capable.

  12. Moral of the story: Stop wasting your life on game .

  13. I remember when dowload RAM was a thing – now we need download some RTX 😉

  14. Yeah um, I'm not supporting the Forced Ray Tracing thing. I'm not going to buy any of it. I call BS on the devs attempting this without a way to turn it off.

  15. Ray tracing being mandatory just wears and tears that graphics card even on light use

  16. So you have a RTX3060 with 12Gb vram and a superior 3070 with less vram and a game checks for Vram to conclude if it's going to use particular features , is that not dumb? seriously , the game surely runs better on a 3070.

  17. @3:43 "you don't need ray traced global illumination for a game to look seriously impressive".. meanwhile the dude walks across the floor like its Quake 3

  18. Miss those old days, where the MB GPU can't even draw shadows, but will run the game regardless.

  19. What about Avatar? its only raytracing!?

  20. 3:33 The light from the window on the 4090 side is lagging behind, it doesn’t follow the player directly. So the developers wrote their own form of DLSS or it’s still on.

  21. Fantastic video!

  22. So, when they jump the gun and drive the cost up, we should just suck it up and pay?
That will just make the have/have not gap larger and could hurt developers/publisher with low sales.
I have a 2080ti, still happy with it. I ran Cyberpunk 2077 a bit, looked OK, but I don't really play games with RTX.
I still blame the people who paid scalpers for the prices, it taught NVIDIA/AMD that there were enough people willing to pay a lot more.

  23. "why are we doing it now?"
because nvidia discovered that customers are realizing the reality of diminishing returns of GPU hardware
if everyone is satisfied with the performance, nobody needs to upgrade, nvidia gets no money

  24. Hello, everyone ! 🌞😻😉👍

  25. I honestly do not care about RT.

  26. This channel has jumped the shark. Why are they hiring models to play their games? “My assistant Luke” he says. He’s just being treated like a piece of beautiful meat!

  27. All of these new GPU announcements are actually making me feel less and less inclined to upgrade from my 2070s founders. Because honestly AAA game companies are struggling to put out anything good (or at least interesting to me) that would require me to upgrade. Indiana Jones does look like an exception, but I'm not dropping hundreds of dollars for one game when technically I can play it with the card I have with some compromises.
If 2024 is to teach us anything, it's that indi games are where it's at right now. These AAA companies are getting too full of themselves. We saw countless flop after flop or terrible launch last year.
Not to mention games like CoD Bo6 using AI slop.

From my experience with games that support RTX, it only looks good if you can use it at the highest setting. Otherwise ambient occlusion looks better and offers higher performance. Though to be fair, not many games I own support RTX so take that as you will. I think the only time I really use it is with Minecraft, which is kind of funny to me.

  28. I fucking hate RTX and Tensor. Such a god damn waste of silicon. Just put regular SM units/Cuda Cores where the RTX and Tensor is. I turn all that shit off, even with a 4090. those cores are basically never used unless I accidentally forget that DLSS or DLAA is defaulted on for some stupid fucking reason.

  29. RDR2 >>>>>>> Indiana Jones

  30. ONCE AGAIN WHAT ABOUT THE RTX 2050 ITS ACTUALLY THE ENTRY POINT NOT the RTX 2060 but i would argue neither can actually handle RT ON at an acceptable FRAME RATE on an acceptable RESOLUTION…

  31. Artifacts caused by upscaling and TAA for example tend to be so noticeable and immersion breaking that it's never going to be worth it just to get more natural light reflections.

  32. I got lucky when I recently bought a used PC from 2022 with a RTX 4070, Ryzen 7 7700x and 32 GB of DDR5 that I only ended up paying 1000€ after selling my old one from 10 years ago. The hardware cost of that thing was twice as much and the previous owner told me that he paid 4 times as much for it. That poor guy got scammed.

  33. Crazy what they're doing with new games…so I think I'll stick to old games.

  34. i have never once regretted buying my 1080 ti founders. still runs everything great. maybe not on max settings but im still happy. the end of any generation is usually the best quality of that generation. 1080 ti is arguably the best non rt gpu.

  35. I really like ray tracing in most games, I just don’t enough about fake frames to pay thousands to avoid them.

  36. Did we all miss the meeting where gamers got together and decided that ray tracing and graphics are our main concerns? The fact that only approximately 1.18% of pc gamers own a 4090 should be an indicator that gamers are not interested and/or can't afford to participate in the graphics arms race. Also, as a biological scientist, I know who is really purchasing these high level graphic cards. In 2019, The x-ray crystallography lab on my floor had 4 2090s hooked up to each of the 6 computers in the lab.

  37. 2060 gang was finally represented

  38. No thanks, I'm good.

  39. We're not better off for their implementation, it looks shit it is shit, you're wrong, I'll die on my non ray tracing hell, don't care.

  40. Nice

  41. Screw it keeping my RX6800 and using Lossless scaling until the thing dies.

  42. wym didn't look better than traditional rasterization? It looks much worse. On decent few year old mid-tier PC-s getting playable framerates means a blurry mess. Like you're playing nintendo wth

  43. Cyberpunk is the only game I use RT on, and only because CDPR cheated. When you turn RT on it will turn on different lighting in certain areas, changing how they look.

  44. gaming is just getting worse and worse

  45. This Indiana Jones game is published by Bethesda (Zenimax) who is owned by Microsoft now. If I had a ton of money I would still refuse to buy it based on principle. As for Nvidia's marketing and RTX, RTX being a requirement for this game doesn't help. I'm still on an EVGA GTX 1080 that still kicks ass. You have to go up into the RTX 30's to actually get an upgrade. RTX gpus are not affordable anyway and I would rather eat food to survive. Screw that.
