The nonprofit global cleaning crew called The Ocean Cleanup, led by founder and CEO Boyan Slat, announced recently that it had reached viability of its ocean plastic-collecting System 002 technology and plans to begin cleaning plastic pollution in the Great Pacific Garbage Patch immediately while beginning development of System 003.

    We need to collect all of the politicians who do nothing about these issues and recycle THEM!. Talk about the Great Garbage Patch!

  11. I'm curious if they could burn the plastic they collect on the ship, to power the ship. While recapturing the CO2 from the exhaust? Closing the cycle more?

  15. This is a great argument for the fact that governments are much less efficient and effective than the private sector. The more free/less regulated the private sector is, the faster we will find real, effective solutions to these issues.
