Steam deck isn’t a computer, it’s an open-source console
And not anyone pointed out that the steam deck has Square touch pads. Yes, a control that would provide 360 degree movement to those people who would play that way, are given square touchpads. 360 should be circular touch pads. It's a no brainer. Some person thought it would look better and completely ignored the functionality. I cancelled my steam deck order for that simple reason. I want circular movement to equal 360.
Got my steamdeck last December and the most impressive device I've purchased. Thanks Valve and also to Linus for reviewing this!

If the next generation uses OLED, there is no electrode battery. Increase battery capacity. The battery is also placed in the handle. Battery life should be doubled.

the steam deck as been aging well and many of the games that were poor experiences (aside from processing grunt) that now are much better
I take that bus part but i don't recommend you guys don't play games while walking in the street… Its dangerous
I don’t love it. I have had my steam deck for about a week and I have done almost nothing with it, because the Track pads won’t work as mouse clicks. I am forced to constantly try and use the touch screen for mouse clicks and it’s just impossible. I have YouTubed and Googled this problem. People seem to know it’s a problem cause others are having it too, as of now I have found zero fixes that actually work and Valve is either obviously to this problem or just doesn’t care, cause I haven’t found anything on them even acknowledging it’s existence. On top of the trap pads being giant pieces of shit the keyboard is almost always clipping and bugging out with almost everything that isn’t the steam OS it’s self, he’ll even in desktop mode it’s constantly breaking everything. And at the end of the day it’s Valves problem to fix cause developers are not going to give a shit, so if stuff doesn’t work either Valve fixes it them selfs or just has a bad product.

I assumed this was steams attempt to consolidate the market. A system that almost runs consoles better than they run themselves through emulation, at an entry price, with the best legal marketplace online. Steam saw gen z knew companies couldn't bullshit another generation of consumers and is now capitalizing on their good design large following and the weakest the console manufacturers have ever been in the market post shortages. They just made themselves a household name and are now making money off pirates who buy into their ecosystem because the retro support is free (even if illegal) and the modern titles run on their system arguably better than consoles that require more power and sacrifice portability and to top it off come in at close to the same price.
Why are calling the Steam Deck a console? It's a handheld PC and it should be analyzed as is. That is your biggest mistake.
Does anyone know if many of these bugs have been ironed out in updates yet?

To be fair Linus, most Deck users end up watching the fps counter as much as playing the games. It's a major flaw of PC gaming.

I’m torn about this because of them offering to fix the software problems Linus found, but then he ultimately withheld them for the review.

TLDR: Steam deck made it so I didn't have to quit gaming.
I've been gaming since I was 6, and other then my Gameboy my main gaming console has always been a PC as i was to poor to own a Xbox 360 or a playstation 2. Using my mom's old work PC was all I had so steam was always there for me , and this new product makes my heart fly as I was about to give up on gaming. as it felt like buying a console would mean losing my library/memory/friends, and the task of finding a good PC was something am not knowledgeable about. games kept updating making so my old computer couldn't keep up ,and me not having any clue how upgrade hardware or even start to look for a good pc.

the demo was probably more of a oversight, on steam demos of games are considered completely separate games.
I really think you should revisit the steam deck now that it's officially out with no queue. Apparently, many of the kinks, but not all, have been ironed out, it would be interesting to see how it fares nowadays.
