7 decades old guy here. My computer knowledge simply has not kept up since a TRS-80. Overwhelmed w/gaming laptop choices these days. Think => Putting a puzzle together w/o seeing the box top image.
Recommendations for a gaming laptop between $1200 – $1500 that would easily support PGA 2k23.

The problem with zephyrus is the ROG branding… Its significantly more pricey because of it.

I am in need of a laptop for college and I have come across a great deal for one of these with a ryzen 9 and rtx 3060 for only $1200. (This is through Best Buy, so it’s nothing shady.) My main worry is having a laptop that will last me all 4 years of college. I don’t plan on trying to speed run cyberpunk 2077 with this, I am just looking for a laptop that will give me good options for casual gaming. Will this laptop last 4 years under those conditions?

4K does have the advantage that you can play in 1080p instead and not be playing in 4K.

Managed to get the g15 with the 3070 last weekend in a trade for my old (to me) desktop. I’ve only played some MW2 on it but it runs like a champ. I did get it to shut down though with settings cranked to max while hooked up to my 4k tv. Running it on recommended settings was fine though.
I had terrible experience with ASUS TUF Gaming A15, so far Display, WIFI and Motherboard has been replaced in span of 3 months.. Not reliable at all based on my experience. Support will waste your time by asking you to reset your laptop each time you will contact then unless you take it to Service center etc.. In each incident i was asked to reset laptop which was waste of time i have reset this ASUS laptop almost 10-15 times imaging installing all software and restoring backup each time…
BIG DISAPPOINTMENT.. i have hardly used this laptop 20% time i had this laptop and 80% time i was either writing email to support, Taking backup, Resetting the laptop, Installing software, restoring backup or laptop was at service center for repairs. YOU ARE THE ONLY ONE WHO CAN TAKE ASUS HEAD ONE… for mean they are not giving me replacement as they said replacement policy is for only 7 days, without ASUS mention about 7 days return policy when you buy asus laptop, for me i only came to know about 7 days policy when after 2 months i asked them regarding replacement when i noticed issue with display which went unnoticed due to the nature of issue. THEY WONT TELL YOU ABOUT 7 Day policy when you buy laptop, its not mentioned on the Invoice, Its not mentioned on any booklet that came with laptop so how on earth you are suppose to know about 7 days return policy?
How does the rog zephyrus g15 chassis compare to alienware m15 r5? Does g15 feel more metal? And overall?
