  1. Google beat Apple to the punch only they call theirs’ Reality Bites.

  2. What if you were able to easily transfer data from your iPhone on the go? You could walk around the city with your glasses on while constantly seeing real-time data about your environment. That would be pretty awesome. That would make for a next level navigation system or some next level tourist guides.

  3. I don't own and would never buy Apple anything.

  4. I wouldn't say no one cares about VR. Overall there has been over a billion dollars in game sales and the Meta Quest 2 sold better than the Xbox Series consoles in 2021. The issue is they are pushing the whole "Meta Verse" on people and trying to make people work in VR. They need to let it evolve on it's own over time instead of saying this is what it is going to be.

  5. I have doubts that Apple in this case will bring out anything groundbreaking. For this specific situation I think what they’ll bring out will just be more refined and intuitive than what others are offering. That is after all what Apple tend to do. I mean I am not going to spend that much money on a VR headset, I’m personally waiting for the meta 3. Also with apples face tracking, I wouldn’t be surprised if they used electrical impulse sensors on the face and temples to track muscle movement in the face. There is already loads of tech out there that can do this and would only take a little bit of calibration to tune it to your face. Also hoping apple bring some heavy duty graphics and improved resolution. The reason I’ve waited until meta 3 is because it really gets to me when I can see the pixels, which I still can with the meta 2.

  6. the only thing apple are doing to make people buy it is slapping their logo on it

  7. I don’t think even Apple could ever make a VR headset popular.

AR glasses is another story though. That could really take off if done right. It has to offer something different from current technology, however!

  8. BTW, I could really see the appeal to active military personnel. Almost like being home for the wife and kids. Make them feel a little closer to home.

well apple already have our “face” data from face-id with its trueDepth camera, they can just combine/map it with the camera on the goggle

  9. 😎😎😎😎😎😎😎😎😎😎

  10. Hope they place a warning label “WEAR PANTS 👖!” No more half dressed pandemic videos 😂.
Sounds like we’re closer to a Holographic communications.

  11. Still not convinced on the use case for ‘average’ Apple users. A lot seems to be doing the same things as you do in reality but in virtual environment- do not really see the point of using for a FT call, although can see the point of not needing multiple monitors and having virtual ones but only really if its multiple monitors you need. Keen to see what the everyday use cases are…but $3000…..!

  12. Lawnmower man!!

  13. At $3000 I don’t want to be using AR when I’m at a physical iMac already in my office. I want it to have a VR Mac Studio that works the same as a physical model would. The headset, or battery pack, has a USB-C input for data input and output. Having a VR pro-level computer + games and I think you could justify the price tag.

  14. The most memorable of my Oculus VR apps other than games was the Wander app that just uses simple Google street view images to plop you down right in the center of the street of any address you type in. You are there again, right in the center of the street with a 360 degree view. ! It's very emotional to go back to look at your old neighborhoods and locations that mean something to you and to feel you are actually there again. You can click through the years (from 2008) and see the changes that have taken place, since Google has images from every year since then.

  15. CNET reporting on leaks seems to somehow lessen my opinion of them. I can get rumors from anyone. I guess I expect more from CNET.

  16. MTG takes on Apple. Riffing and owning the libs.

  17. APPLE CATFISH AR VR ❤

  18. Virtual reality cycling simulator. ♥

  19. What if the Apple VR fixed the vision problem of people with glasses when folks put on the headset..I’d be game for that! A set that adjusts to an individuals vision. 20/20+ for everyone when the headset is put on

  20. Probably pre-make your realistic character mesh for first step then It will auto rig it and the headset will just track your movements to move the character. It’s not processing meshes every second I don’t think.

  21. LEAKED: iPhone is used to take a 3d map of your entire face using True depth camera. The Apple Reality Pro uses this 3d map built by the iPhone, and along with the signals from its built-in cameras to capture the dynamic positions and expressions of your face, it can recreate your real looking face in FaceTime.

  22. Basically the movie LX2048. Lol…

  23. Yes, people definitely want to look exactly like their physical selves in VR…

  24. I'm more interested in Apple's spin on foldable phones than VR.

  25. I highly doubt that the rumored $3K price tag is real for the base configuration

  26. 🤣 bro she sounds like a hater. She one of those people with an iPhone and hate the company at the same time

  27. Mmh, really good Animation/Motion Capture of 3D characters would interest me personally the most.

Getting creative by bringing avatars to life and record it and export it into 3D programs and get results, that are better then most expensive mocap solution would be a reason to buy it

  28. Honestly, I can’t wait for the Apple VR/AR Headset to launch…I bet the headset and the new refined OS will be super amazing! VR/AR is the real future tech ❤️

  29. It was the same problem with 3DTV: It still has good possibilities–and went through a lot of mistakes from an overeager industry that wanted to use it for everything it wasn't suited for–but G@mer-b0iz immediately took over the discussion, thought any new tech was made Just For Them, said "Eww, there aren't enough games, laaaaame!", and rushed to YouTube to pronounce it "dead" overnight.
I'm not giving up my PSVR, but if an Apple VR can double as a 3D Personal Cinema headset compatible with Blu/4K players, I'm in.

  30. irritating lady

  31. Shouldn’t be too hard to create a 3d face of yours, Apple has your Face ID already.

From there it’s just a matter of trying to line up somewhat generic muscle movements to convey your expressions using even just a little camera sensing.

  32. Apple is not at camera company The majority of the cameras and lenses in the devices are from Sony and other manufacturers. 🙄

  33. Knowing Apple, they will be very mediocre "unique" features but at a "ultra premium" price.

  34. Just make VR sunglasses. Why no one done it?!?]

  35. Apple waits for others to come up with good ideas, see which ones work best, copies em, makes a slicker more intuitive UI, puts it behind a wall for max profit, and the world gives em credit for being the best innovators.

  36. It comes down to cost and making it something the whole family can enjoy at the same time. I’ll need 6 of those headsets 😂

  37. Amazing video and thank you for breaking it down!! Despite the economic downturn, I'm so happy have been earning $ 60,000 returns from my $7,000 investment every 10days..

  38. Youre not ready for virtual reality fitness workout? How are you not enjoying Les Mills workout on the Quest 2? I have a home gym but I now mostly workout on my Quest 2!!

  39. Another thing that you pay a heap of money for so they can market stuff to you and then after 3 years you chuck it in the bin.

  40. But who want to look like themselves in VR? VR is to escape reality.

  41. IMHO the main problem with VR is that it is exhausting for people with motion sickness like me. I’m very enthusiastic and I cannot stand more than half an hour without resting. Most of the people won’t make such effort to try it

  42. Should definitely be possible with a scanned face map and then ai adjustments.

  43. Why would I want my ugly self be represented in VR? I want to be a cute person for once in VR🤣🥺

  44. I think sticking with Memoji is a more aesthetic and desirable option. It keeps the virtual world separate from real world.
I don’t think this is a selling point, Apple will have actual reasons to get this device.
