The Razer Edge probably has the perf to play most local Android games well, which puts it a step above the pitifully weak G Cloud (surprised that wasn't compared with the Edge since it's an Android+streaming handheld like the Edge is).
However, the Edge is literally an Android tablet with a Rishi controller for the same price as a vastly superior entry level Steam Deck, so stands very little chance of mainstream adoption. Trying to make an Android gaming handheld is a complete waste of time when phones+snap on controllers do exactly the same job and probably cheaper (plus with the flexibility to change the phone or controller independently as well as having phone features that the handheld doesn't).
The gaming handheld to get for the last year has been the Steam Deck and if the Edge is the sort of new entrant we'll see this year, 2023 will be the year of the Deck as well.
I'll stick to my razer kishi
Razer should've made razer phone 3 instead they make a streaming device. Better buy a Red magic 8 or ROG phone 6 pro than this.
I wish that pc games could play locally on android internal storage and external storage without game streaming but have game streaming for users that game streaming by downloading the games from steam and play the games from the internal storage.
Yep, skip it and buy a SteamDeck, it's epic. No Android that for some reason does not have a good Emulation front end. And PC games run on the Deck and run really well. Crap you can play Nintendo Switch games on the Deck, that is enough said… I love deck, I grabbed the 64gb model and swapped it for 1tb, the best of all worlds 🙂
As a razer fanboy myself, I’ll be the first to say they absolutely missed a golden opportunity with this one, if they would’ve made a PC handheld it would have definitely caught my interest, and I’m not upset that they are after getting into the handheld gaming market, I just think they could’ve done way better
5g version is limited to most customers, bc it only support for Verizon
Scott Hall invented the Razors Edge
What's the point? It doesn't do anything a phone can't do
The heavily rounded screen corners make zero sense to me. Overpriced package (especially the cellular model).
Buy a high-end android phone. Buy a usb-c retractable controller.
I would just keep my IPhone and BackBone controller works great and has it own OS support
If only Sony release ps vita 2
I can't wait to get my Steam Deck already 😖
It's a waste! Too wide, rounded corners, pillar boxing with every game aside of android gaming. Really prefer my Odin form factor over this, or the new PixMax Portal looks awesome!
It's like they just went into a bin and got a whole bunch of parts and just slapped it together.
This bezels kill it for me. Makes it look like something from 2013
So, I’ll call it:
1) Steam deck
2) Switch and other windows type handheld consoles
3) Razer Edge

He will help
I think he is the only legit dude here
Steam Deck is the best. I really wish I could buy it for myself and my pals.
Razer Edge looks like a phone to which they attacked Switch Joy cons. It doesn't look like a handheld at all.
just get the controler add on
Razer Edge ($399) vs Steam Deck 64 GB ($399) 🤔
