Awesome Tips Why This Keyboard is STILL My Main After 3 Years

Despite all the keyboards I’ve reviewed and the customs I built, I’m still using the Corsair K95 Platinum RGB keyboard every single day as my main since it’s 2017 release.

  1. the reason probably is because he doesnt use it as main for 3 years but gets pay well to say….i mean maybe

  2. i just now spilled a soda into my k95 =,( RIP qwerty

  3. which handrest is he using here ? it's decently not the original one

  4. I am using media keys as PTT button for each radio channel on Arma 3. I wish keyboard manufacturers will add more keys on keyboards than lights. For God's sake it's a keyboard not a Christmas tree so stop adding lights to it.

  5. Still useing mine just waiting for these 200$ keyboards to drop in price ….. im looking for Blues if anyone is selling

  6. I have to ask this question, compared to the K100 what it about the K95 platinum that you like better. I almost bought the K100 and can still get it, but the K100 space bar has a sound that isn't consistent with the rest of the other keys. So why is the K100 corsair not your regular one vs the K95 platinum?

  7. I'm ditching corsair on my next set of accessories. Their software is garbage. I can't even keep my lighting on my mouse and keyboard cause it randomly loads profiles and automatically cycles through them without input.

I just bought K95 and i'm enusiast of this keyboard. I love your keycaps, 'm looking for talian layout….

  8. People who know what's up with Cherry MX Silver Speeds 😏

  9. I use the same keyboard with pbt caps. Got mine used for $70 several years ago and have been super pleased with it's performance and longevity. Recently thinking of going tenkeyless as I find myself running out of mouse room in fps games.

  10. I've had 2 Corsair keyboards and both had issues with buttons where they just break and fall off. My space was getting stuck on the first $95 keyboard so I ordered the more expensive one. A month later same issue with spacebar getting stuck on one side… Never again.

  11. anyone know the rotary encoder that is in this one?

  12. The wrist rest shown is from the xt version tho…

I've kinda got the same thing with the G910

  13. The link for the key caps is not in stock at Amazon, do you have another one or another place to get them?

  14. Why You didn't Say anything about the k95 biggest flaw, that makes it a shitty keyboard… The spacebar "stabilizer" is pretty fucked up, and is very common that it loosens on the sides and makes a lot of mistyping

  15. My Corsair k95 had to be RMA'd FOUR TIMES. They kept breaking down, having key chatter, disconnecting from my computer… the worst.
Ironically, the last K95 I had was destroyed due to my own negligence. I spilled coffee on it. DEAD.
When I saw that Corsair made a keyboard with Opto-mechanical keyboards, I gritted my teeth and gave it a chance. Amazingly… no problems. It works just like it's supposed to. Seems like Corsair finally got their act together. And before anyone says anything, I have had several mechanical keyboards before. The K95 was the worst. So far the K100 has been great. I don't like the shorter key travel, though. I mostly use my keyboard for typing. It's still good, though.

  16. My corsair k68's space bar is broken after 6 years. Is this normal?

  17. I'm still using this ever since it was release 3-4 years back, with Speed silver.
But what I did was de-soldered all tbe switches which have stabilizers… Lubed them coz only gripe is too much rattle.

I use this for both my 3D / compositing work and competitive gaming like apex, warzone..

  18. am I the only one that just wants to know what game hes playing???

  19. That keyboard kinda fresh, but I have the K55 keyboard

  20. I've had my Razer Blackwidow Ultimate 2013 for 8 years now and I still use it today lol
I still think it's an awesome and durable keyboard although it is starting to have some mechanical problems

  21. Idk if I should switch to a ducky one 2 mini, I love rgb and I have a Corsair mk2 I recently just got a pc a few months ago and I love this keyboard, the pause button is actually pretty useful when I watch anime and vids, I have a rgb mousepad with a wireless charger on the left side and with my Corsair keyboard there is not that much room for my mouse but I can still play well. Any advice if I should switch keyboards?
    My thoughts:
-No more pause button, scroll wheel (All the extra keys/buttons)
-less rgb compatibility in Ducky, Corsair has iCue Software
-Ducky is much smaller so can be easier to maneuver
-I can type better on a smaller keyboard
-Corsair keyboard is big even the wires

  22. Frank: Raving on full size keyboards, and saying how TKL and 60% keyboards are the best

    Also Frank:

Me hearing Frank at 6:04: Well, this is awkward…

  23. I'm still using my corsair vengeance K95 RGB I'm not changing anytime soon its not a k95 in my eyes without the 18 macro keys

  24. Have you ever tried the low profile cherry speed switches?

  25. Excellent video – good to know that it's still rocking after 3 years of use. Durability is something that doesn't often get reviewed.

FYI – as of this typing…Best Buy has it on sale for $140:

  26. im gonna need to buy those keycaps…. like now

  27. @5:33 – so you're not a fan of dirt and grime and somehow that's a ding for the keyboard? are you a smooth-brain? my goodness the idiots on youtube are getting worse.

  28. I own this keyboard, in fact I'm typing on it now, but I don't think it's that good. Considering the price, I should not be having so many problems. For me, the rbg freezes, and there is a horrible lag that makes typing and gaming a pain. I'll be typing and it will just do something like thisssssssssssssssssss. Also, sometimes all inputs just stop and it will skip all my inputs for a couple seconds. The weird thing is that started after owning it for a month and a half, and I'm not sure if it's a software issue, but I know many other people have these problems as well.

  29. I just totalled my K70 with a cup of coffee on Sunday…I am still in mourning.

  30. the k95 XT version is the exact same price and slightly improved, also has a better wrist rest
even just the S keys being blue make me want the k95 XT over all the other corsair keyboards
im thrown off the k100 because of the wheel…

  31. hold up, gotta pee, can you pause for a sec?

  32. Can someone help me? I have this keyboard and really want to like it, but there are 2 big problems wich just make it hard for me to enjoy the product for what it really is.

So, problem one I have is that when I turn on my pc, the keyboard starts up with a profile that has a white rgb strip on the top and red keys. It honestly really annoys me. I want to ask if it’s possible to have it start with an rgb profile I have using it’s onboard storage? I understand that ique needs to be launched when u turn your pc on so that all your keybinds and macros start to do what they are supposed to, it actually fks up my mouse sensitivity also the way that ique needs to be on…. if it’s not possible, can someone tell me how to make it so that the keyboard doesant have a lighting profile at all until ique starts to run?

Second problem I have is with the keycaps. Idk, the stock ones are really cheap feeling to me and I want to get the Corsair white ones with the double thick walls, but feel that there must be cheaper options somewhere out there with maybe a better font .. does anyone have any aftermarket suggestions? I know that in this video he is using hyperx pudding keycaps, but see those fk the bottom row of the board, as in the non standard alignment makes it so that some keys don’t fit properly. I just want to kno if there are any options u might’ve found that really worked for you.

To finish off, I would like to know if it’s possible to have ique launch immediately, as in that it’s already on by the time I log in. See, I actually just now timed it, and it takes about 15 seconds after I log in for ique to launch by itself. It’s just that it’s really annoying in that your entire setup doesant work properly and that you basically have to wait for it to start so you can begin to use your pc haha (as in, my mouses sensitivity is really low when ique isn’t on and I litterally can’t stand that lol, my sensitivity is like 4 times that of the one that it gives me when ique isn’t on), man I only got my pc like a year ago and I feel so helpless when it comes to ique for some reason. Is there nothing that could be done so it starts to work sooner? Is this just something we all have to deal with? You don’t have to actually reply if you don’t want to, but I would appreciate if someone does.

  33. Diamond hands!!!

  34. So, the best should be the Logitech g-110, 1 usb cable for the pc, has a usb 2.0, audio and mic passthrough. Granted the RGB is not as bright, and has few color selection, but still works well since dec 2009. You should take another look at that gem.

  35. In New York I milly rock.

  36. Sry but puddingkeycaps r ugly… get normal ones.. plssssss

  37. Logitech g15 v1 16 yers going strong 😂

  38. I love multi media keys if I can get a full multi media suite on a custom keyboard thats when ill fork out the money to build one till then I'll stick with corsair

  39. Never heard Frank curse. Potty mouth

  40. I still use the og k95 rgb with the 18 g keys

  41. Btw you can buy pudding leycaps for Corsair on ebay

  42. If you have the original K95, this XT version isn't worth buying unless…you work in the dark or just have a poorly lit work environment. If you look at the original K95, notice that all the keys with a SHIFT or secondary function, all have their secondary functions (for example, the "?" under the "/"} on the lower half of the key. That used to be pretty standard practice on many keyboards, but the more intelligently designed L.E.D. keyboards have these secondary legends on the UPPER HALF of the key. Why? Because that's where the L.E.D. lives! If you have a legend on the lower half of the key, as on the original K95, that legend remains unlit. The new K95 XT has those secondary legends on the UPPER HALF of the key so they can be lit-up by the L.E.D. underneath. This means they can be seen even in a dim environment. There are other similar but subtle improvements on the K95 XT that should have been implemented on the original K95 but weren't.

Of course, another huge improvement is the availability of Cherry MX BLUE switches, which were previously unavailable on the original K95. I was always puzzled by the lack of a BLUE switch option on the original K95 as they are a very popular switch with many people, including myself. As for the textured spacebar, while unnecessary, it seems to add a bit of luxury, as do the textured macro keys. Nothing was said about the Elgato Streamdeck software, but this is also a big upgrade from the original K95. The new padded wrist rest is much better than the hard plastic wrist rest on the original K95, and finally brings the wrist rest up to standard with RAZER and other high-end competitors. The only thing still missing is magnetic attachment to the keyboard instead of cheap plastic clips that can easily break. All-in-all, the K95 XT is, in many subtle ways, better than the original K95. But unless you can use or need these subtle refinements, upgrading from a K95 to a K95 XT is a waste of money. Stick with your K95, it's still the "Rolls Royce" of keyboards…just a different Rolls Royce.

  43. Same here, I have a 700 dollars custom keyboard but still uses my Razer Huntsman Elite as my main gaming keyboard, dunno why lol, it just fits the aesthetic more and has crazy RGB and full buttons maybe, and maybe volume wheel too.

  44. should I get this keyboard?

  45. K95 vs k100

  46. Aloominum

  47. I wonder where he gets his keycaps from. I want to change mine.
