@19:40 – Windows never had a 9 because of Windows 95 and Windows 98. There is a bunch of software out there that compares windows versions by the first part of the name of the product. So "Windows 9" was used to check for the version of 95 and 98. Having a Windows 9 that wasn't 95 and 98 would break a lot of old software. The crazy thing is the amount of legacy software written in the early to late 90s and early 00s that check for this that is mission critical. We would have a kind of Y2K problem if they had a Windows 9.

another confusing thing about apples naming is that iPads are named in generations of their model tier for example iPad pro 5th gen or iPad air 2nd gen that makes sense until the iPad pro 3rd gen 11 inch is double the price used than the iPad pro 3rd gen 12.9 inch apparently because the 11 inch came out like 4 years after the 12.9 inch 😭 at least macs are usually identifiable by the year because otherwise MacBook pro could be like 10 different things

I want a new option for custom NAS. Unraid using USB drive is so stupid (with issues when you need to transfer tge license) and Truenas Scale being such a buggy mess that if you want to run docker apps reliably, you need a VM for it to which you can't pass the iGPU, because for some reason Truanas needs a GPU? I want Synology DSM OS, just the OS, not their overpriced HW – running Xpenology was so far the most stable solution I've tried so far.

You guys touched it with the Xeon Scalable family but I feel like you missed a few things that make this even more hilarious. The Xeon Silver 4210 is a generation newer than the Xeon Silver 4110. The Xeon Silver 4310 also exists. Then you have your Xeon Gold 5000 and 6000 series. The first number does not dictate whether or not if the processor is the newest generation or not, which is what they are even calling out AMD for doing, where only the 2nd number of their product lineup says something about the generation, here it does too. And what the hell is the difference between Gold 5000 and 6000. I build servers with this as a job, and it isn't always very clear what is what, but let's call out AMD for doing EXACTLY WHAT WE DO.

I think anything AI created must have non removable stamp saying "created using AI" even if it's music . Otherwise soon we will start seeing fake videos of someone doing some crime , and then just everyone seen the video will accuse them for no reason .
