  1. TCO is not currently a reason to buy an EV if you actually do the total math. Also lately car companies have drastically increase maintenance costs on EVs making their business case even more difficult to justify. Just make sure to do your own diligence before jumping on that ship.

  2. The inner mountain west needs more charging stations. It's hard enough to non gouging gas stations in some places. Imagine running out of charge in Wyoming or Montana. The last chance charger will rip you off.

  3. To make one EV Battery you must process 25,000 lbs of brine for lithium, 30,000lbs of Ore for the Cobalt, 5,000 lbs of Ore for the Nickel and 25,000 lbs of Ore for the Copper. In the end you dig up 500,000 lbs of Earths crust for one battery not to mention the fossil fuels needed to process and transport it all..

  4. Check the EV track record. Not good. Not stubborn, just educated.

  5. Not able to hear anything

  6. Didn't even watch the video. With such a stupid title, why would I? EV's are way more expensive than gas cars. To the tune of tens-of-thousands. Some of us live outside a city core, in that we effn' travel. You take your litte EV across Montana, Nevada, eastern Oregon, eastern Washinton, or Utah. (I assume the mid-west is similar), see how far you get. In a lot of these states it's hard to find GAS STATIONS, let alone charging stations.

I need a truck. I can buy a Honda Ridgeline for $40,000, OR I can buy a Rivian for $80,000. Not a hard choice. $40,000 buys A LOT of gas (I did the math, about 20 years of gas). AND there is no range anxiety with a Ridgeline. Nor is there ever an hour+ charge time to fill the tank.

Look, ev's won't eliminate gas cars until ALL THREE of these conditions come with every ev:
    1) 400 mile range on single charge.
    2) 20-minute charge time (to full).
    3) $40k pricetag.
Until then, ev's are 'great urban get arounds', or 'toys for rich people'….

  7. Cooley rolling blackouts happen in NY, CA, and TX right now with almost no EVs on their systems so how they going to provide electricity for all these 50% of all cars sold in 2030 being EVs as your charted guessed?

  8. Cooley did you say that resale value on a used EV is better than on a ICE vehicle because someone paid the higher upfront cost? What about the $10K-$15K battery replacement that a used EV has right around the corner? Wouldn't that make the used EV value plummet?

I would never buy an ev! Never ever!!

  9. Gas or Electric , Trading one pollutant …  for another. These special  types of electrical batteries used to propel these cars and trucks are highly toxic and a constant fire hazard.  Infact many homeowners insurance companies will not insure  you if you park a electric  cars or truck in your garage,  plus electric  car insurance itself is higher because  of high fire risk.  These things are becoming  a huge environmental  disaster !   … GREEN ENERGY ?  No way !

  10. $50k Out of the door 3 Row Electric SUV drive out price; 15mins for 80% charge; 500 mile driving range. May be after 5 years this may be a reality and lead to more mass usage.
Initially Tesla Model Y was promised for $50k but is costing upwards of $70K with the self driving package and calling the 3 row version an SUV is a joke. Rivian R1S is a true 3 Row Electric SUV but price needs to come down and range needs to be increased.

  11. God the sound on the video is killing me. Not that it's loud or distorted. It's just confusing my brain.

  12. One of the major components of EV batteries is cobalt which is mined using child labor as young as six years old.

  13. All I ever wanted

    All I ever needed

    Is here in my arms

    Words are very unnecessary

    They can only do harm

  14. So I should go out and buy a one million dollar home, even if I can't afford it. Don't worry about the mortgage or insurance it will be cheaper in the long run? What do I do if I live in a condo complex where there are no charging options available? What happens if I live in California or Texas where the power grid is always in jeopardy? Most of the people I know with electric cars are single, retired with no kids to worry about and never drive very far from home. All of them, every single one, is what I would call wealthy or well off. None of my working class friends could afford a new or used electric car let alone the charging stations they require or the costly repairs (which do occur despite what you are led to believe)

There's something wrong with the audio on this one

  15. Well the basic facts is the $7500 tax credit is still in place because no one will buy them without it. Then the issue that you never own a electric car. Sure you own the plastic and metal. But you don't own the software or the rights to alter it. Then the big problem is its useless after 6 to 10 years. Replacing the bad battery is about half the price of the car.

You forgot to mention ridiculous mark ups on EVs at 99% of dealers and the cost to replace an EV motor or battery will have opening a gofundme just to afford one. Repair costs on an ICE are far more cheaper on the long run. The convenience of filling up and driving off an ICE in a matter of 1 or 2 minutes will be hard to match for an EV probably until 2030 or 2040.

  16. : )

  17. ~$50K for the cheapest Tesla..?

    Don’t think so…. I stick to an ICE Corolla…!

    Yes, I’m poor..!

  18. I just read a article about a woman who rented a EV to drive from Pennsylvania to Denver: Twice she had to be towed because of the dead battery. No one seems to connects the miles per charge and using the accessories, especially, heater or AC, satellite radio, this all reduces the miles driven per change. Before one purchases a EV what’s the added expense of installing the EV power panel. How much does it cost for a recharge as compared to a fuel up. Will the landlord install the power supply for EV, how much will he charge the renters to use it. My 2011 Honda Accord with a 18 1/8 gallon tank, has driven 490 miles before I needed to fill up, my fill up only took, 10 minutes, then back on the road. WHAT SAY YOU.

  19. Good visuals, horrible audio.

  20. The cost of the battery replacement alone for used Eps is INSANE! Like $20,000 for a Tesla. So, you have to buy the used car 2-3 times over it's life, depending on how long you own it. I'm averaging 17 years per vehicle.

  21. Biggest scam and worst idea ever….just like Starlink, Neuralink and pretty much everything else Elon Musk touches or takes credit for. FAILURES!

  22. Much cheaper changing fluids and a alternator than changing an EV battery. Especially when a Tesla replacement battery costs $22,000.

  23. The reason I won’t buy an EV is because cost of repairs. Yeah maintenance is low they say. But even minor dings and accidents are costing people thousands and taking months to get parts for repair.

  24. With my old jeep I felt like every time I left the garage my vehicle would break down… it did sometimes and I was on edge a lot… I do not have that problem with my EV.

  25. I agree with the creator; EVs are going to win over consumers. First, EVs are powerful and easier to drive. It is more compatible with smartphones, voice commands, GPS, etc. ICEVs will become horse drawn coaches for youngsters who are beginning to learn to drive now.

  26. EV is just more cleaner. Plus. The cars internally are much cleaner. No oil changes. No stains. Etc. Maybe just debris that stick to the tires when you drive. That can be cleaned off with a car wash. Everything is else is just much cleaner. Plus they are fast as heck. The platform is just SO much better and there not as complicated as designing an engine or hooking it up etc etc (Transmission etc). I can easily prototype cars in it. Plus. Humans need to stop spewing that carcinogenic crap from the Dinosaur engines. Its one of the things that causes Cancer. It kills you and you don't come back.

  27. กรณีย์ซื้อรถประเภท ไฮบริด ขอบริการเสริม เปลี่ยนถังนำ้มัน ใด้มั๊ย ?

  28. Ev doesnt solve Carbon Footprints. EV cars release tons of carbon during manufacturing compared to petrol ones. You guys are living in a dream

Also, most apartments and condos have few or no chargers

  29. Audiobook not working?!

  30. There is something wrong with the audio. I can hear the background music but I can't hear Cooley. I thought it was my laptop but it is the same at work. Your stereo mix has flipped. The background is the fprground and vice-versa.

  31. EVs have hidden cost. All their gas savings estimates are based on the EXTREME best scenario.

  32. He might be right but he’s 10-15 years too soon on the majority of people wanting to switch over. Infrastructure not ready yet. Too many unknowns

  33. Just wait till electric prices go up like they have been. The government will find a way to get its money so you eventually pay the same amount as a regular ice car

  34. EV too expensive for me unfortunately
