Awesome Tips MOUNTAINS of Dead EV Batteries Are Coming: Here's How We Plan To Deal With It

The future of old EV batteries is very different from that of old combustion engines. In a smarter world we’ll tackle a sea of old batteries with the four Rs: Reuse, repurposing, recycling and reduction.

  1. No. 90% of the components of lION batteries are recyclable.

  2. While it cannot compensate for the damage caused by tiny radio batteries to the environment.🤔🤔Are you aware that the whole world is rushing to turn into battery garbage?🤔🤔 power tools, cars, all kinds of newly invented machines, marine vehicles, etc. I'm talking about trillions of batteries, not billions. As the people of the world, we will inherit a battery garbage world to our children. ..🤔🤔When the world becomes a battery dump 50 or 100 years later, more dangerous than nuclear weapons, what fruit and grain can you think of growing on this land? Well, I'm asking you, our esteemed scientists, you know..🤔🤔 I wonder what is your solution on this issue as the world moves towards the battery garbage dump.😎😎

  3. is bs

  4. Government will kill us with their motto; "Do it or else " EV's will be much more of a severe threat rather than a big-time inconvenience…

  5. You didn't answer the question, you didn't. All these solutions will not make significant impact because the batteries will eventually die completely that it can't be reused for any purpose and recycling will not be quick enough.

The honest truth is that majority of these batteries will be shipped to Africa and dumped in second-hand value and in waste fields while the west looks away.

At the end, Africa will take the hit as we are doing so with used refrigerators, microwaves and tyres.

  6. Only a small percentage of those batteries can be recycled. Most of the materials will end up in landfills.

  7. *cars are much cleaner emissions. i.e. more CO2 and less CO, NO, and soot.

  8. "This year, 5.3 billion mobile phones will be thrown away the international waste electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE) forum says.Oct 14, 2022"

  9. You got to love his "reduction" part of the story, a "psychological" part of the story. Essentially, PROPAGANDA. He just didn't use the "P" word. Convincing people to lower their expectations of their needs of a long drive. Buy an EV now he says. You don't NEED to have the longer range of the cars that the supposedly better EV's will not be to match for a long time!!! This of course would keep people driving only within their own city. Once you brainwash people into giving up long distance driving, it would then be much easier to convince people to give up their cars altogether for public transportation, since moving people within a short distance is the only thing people could do with an EV car anyway! See how that works? Goodbye freedom of movement…forever! Thank you EV cars!!

  10. This is exaggerated. They decided to change to LiFePo4 which are very recyclable. In fact recycled LiFePo4 batteries are preferred to the fresh mined lithium. Repurposing is not really a thing with LiFePo4 because of how long their lifespan is, range increases and recyclability. Plus there are much better battery technologies on the horizon that will be here very soon. Some have already arrived. This video is misleading.

  11. We’ve gone the wrong way with EV’s. We should have gone with Hydrogen fuel cells instead of batteries. No recycling issues or range problems.

  12. : )

  13. Stupid plan, what you do after the world is saturated with old reused cells you must recycle them.

  14. There'd be no range anxiety if it didn't take forever to charge. Trying to address that issue with DC fast charge degrades batteries faster. It's almost like the products aren't ready for prime time.

  15. Yeah that sounds great and all but no one is going to do those things if there's no profit in it. Did anyone bother to do that math?

  16. What a disaster waiting to happen.

  17. ev 18 wheeler, battery cost $200k
that is every year you must replace…lol

  18. Don't fool yourself, buying an electric car will come back and bite you in the A$$ …. as it did my family ! … Forget Batteries ! … an move on to a newer energy source that won't poison every body on earth !!

  19. ♻️🔋Redwood battery recycling🔋♻️

  20. No, not that many people WANT an EV…they're just under the impression they will HAVE to. And with all the issues cropping up with the electrics AND electronics, those OLDER USED ICEVs are becoming REALLY popular. But that's not as glamorous for non technological touch screen consumers.

As far as battery recycling…look to plastics and failed solar panels and windmills. Landfills…usually in third world countries. Simply heating up or shredding, doesn't seperate the component elements. That requires processes that are, to this day, so toxic they're ILLEGAL in pretty much all of North America.

Still think these things are BETTER for the environment?

  21. Burning hydrogen in a combustion engine is a better choice. No battery waste. Hydrogen exhaust is water. Fuel cells are two complicated and expensive. Hydrogen can be made with wind and solar .

  22. Everything is coming up roses for the EV Batteries. But not everyone is going to some charge station when they could charge from home. But with that you still need coal and gas. But a good solution is Nuclear Power Plants, clean, reliable, long lasting AND CHEAP Something to think about. 🤔

  23. Disposal fee Recycle Fee will soon be up to an added $1000.00 . Your delusional if you think EV's are going to solve anything.

  24. PISS OFF WITH YOUR ELECTRIC CAR!!!

  25. ok so we discussed the process of reusing batteries. Now lets discuss what it takes to bring that electric car to market….6 tons of carbon footprint for a gas car, 12 tons of carbon footprint for an electric car with 125mile range.. 25 tons of carbon foot print for a 350 mile range electric car.. So basically you have to drive that 125 mile range car for 85k miles before it breaks even with the gas car on the carbon footprint and 450k miles for the 350 mile range electric car. Now lets hope you don't need to replace the battery.. A kid bought an electric focus in florida for 11k with 60k miles on it , the battery needed to be replaced and it cost 14k dollars… Lets be honest here, IS THIS REALLY A BETTER IDEA? i would have to say clean diesel is by far a better idea for cost and environment… Don't get me wrong, I love electric vehicles, I am just being honest about what is best.. Also did you know that a major component of the battery is mined out of the congo where they use children 6-10 yrs old because they are the only ones that can fit in that mine. They are paid peanuts and sometimes die in the mine, buried and parents are paid off so the govt doesn't know. Im sorry but this is not worth it to me just so some car brands can make millions and it doesnt benefit anyone but the automakers and investors…im sure they will delete this comment.

  26. Lol we'll do the same thing we do with batteries now…I don't understand this video.

  27. Lol. All BS. As we know the old Lipo battery is where the risk of explosion kicks in.

Why don't you show the 60% of electricity made with coal?

  28. Won't even be here in 10 to 15yrs!!

  29. Electric cars will present a different but equal threat to Earth's environment and as a consequence of course, our human health.

  30. EV would require infrastructure which is a struggle currently, I also see the next president killing this idea. Lack of oil cause wars

  31. What does somebody do especially a company with these EV batteries if they're stuck in traffic in the middle of winter when it's really cold?

  32. The mountain of EV batteries is already building. The hill is 2 years away.

  33. Lol com on You know how this/batteries would really end up, in third world Africa . Out of sight out of mind

  34. Not adorable for most people now. Infrastructure not established. We are going to need gas powered cars for many more years.

  35. This video is basically propaganda for how great cars are now compared to the 60s…. My 10 year old ev is running on 125,000 miles and nearly no loss in charge… come on Cooley….

  36. “Mountains of batteries?”

  37. Just waiting EV's stuck on rail road, get struck by thunder or exploding under high current electric pole.

  38. Ev's is suck, world need hydrogen revolution to use in current engine technology.

  39. tesla is recycling a really high percentage of each battery that's past its efficiency standard.
