  2. What the heck is that thing in the middle of the frame?

  3. 2:03:35 I mean fine-ish. Showering every day is actually bad for your skin.

  4. what linus cant understand is apple people subscribe to apples way like its a cult so any comment about their cult has to be positive or they take offense, i skipped that part because its meaningless to argue cultists

  5. To Linus and your rant. If you go in settings the accounts section got split up kinda. Account got buried into the sub menu of every app that uses it. The change happened between 3 and 5 years ago. This was done because old people were not able to find it because they were looking in the mail settings.

  6. 1:10:40 lol Luke

  7. Still didnt finish the vod, but did they explain why there is a barrier between them?

Edit: Got it, Linus is sick. Or was. "Gute Besserung".

  8. 1:08:40 Dan is Mr Meeseeks!

  9. There is open and easy to use NAS software… Openmediavault. And you get better performance than on zfs. I think going zfs with simple NAS is stupid, you need big ARC, maybe special vdev ssd if you want some performance. Its just too expensive to run. Just use mdadm in linux a use usb hdd for backup or rsync data to other nas for backup (btw. you also need backup for zfs, raid isnt backup)

  10. Sounds like EA can eat a bag of Oscar Meyer wieners

  11. way to out yourself luke

  12. wordpad was an abomination

  13. That is not a reasonable expectation to use google shit with apple product. Frak he is frakking dumb

  14. That iOS Calendar discussion just shows what a hater Linus is. Where is add tour apple account to Android? There is none. So why to expect this on iOS. What a jerk

  15. ROFL. This whole discussion about signing in on iOS, where people are suggesting other ways to access the account add are entirely missing the point. Why in the ever bleeding hell do I need to go to settings for some app setting and to individual apps for other settings. That is the root of the whole problem. The absolute most core basic principle of good UX is consistency. On that alone iOS fails *miserably*.

  16. Apple fanboys and apologists are a special breed.

  17. Genocide Chips, Linus?

  18. i don't believe EA. you shouldn't either. most cheats are manufactured for windows machines. they most likely want an excuse to not have to focus on linux.

  19. As someone who owns an Android phone, and uses an iPhone at work, there are frustrating things about both. But again, I bought my phone because it frustrates me less than my work phone.

  20. I used a bot when I was a kid because I liked a game which was pay 2 win and I didn’t have any money to get the cash items. The Bot had most cash items included. The game was already bleeding players because it was so heavily monetised and I thought „let’s have some fun before this goes even more downhill“. Am I a bad person now?

  21. Having a system wide account is inherently an android paradigm.

If you were to ask a person that truly hasnt used android or ios. I think they would say that its more intuitive to configure calendar sync in calendar app, and mail in a mail app.

Its just a different paradigm, i dont think you can say that something is better or worse.

  22. 59:20 – Those are called aglets. Their true purpose is sinister.

  23. Samsung calender has a button to add all kinds of accounts easily in the app, never used it before and it took me 10s to find

  24. btw, no one in europe says "canola" oil. its just Rapeseed oil here

  25. The work of the week is "Intuitive".

  26. iOS mail and other third party accounts are under the MAIL APP settings, on the settings app. Please make sure to proof test/read these things before releasing the iOS18/iPhone review 🙈

  27. Hahaha holy crap I didn't know saying Quidditch is an obviously bad sport and a parody was such a controversial take among HP fans. I have never got so many DMs and replies posting whole essays about his fictional sport. They came out of the woodwork on a non HP related discord server no less.

  28. If you have to spend nearly an hour talking about logging into an email account it definitely isn’t intuitive 😂

  29. I am a linux gamer 😂

  30. "Dear HR, My boss throws stuff around the office, its just not safe, and then makes not inappropriate jokes"

  31. Maybe the best solution is to restrict online gaming options to connecting with groups of people who know one another and limit development for open world play to experiences which don't "live or die" on the basis of cheating. If friends want to cheat with one another then that's between them.

  32. 2:19:34 I also think it’s important to not be to anal about one feature. As a person who has Windows as is third place OS it’s got about 100 “why are my accounts in an odd place”. Like Linus said, it’s a sliding scale of useless… 🙂

  33. 2:17:04 I think iOS add accounts “dynamically” (as in logging into gmail would ask the user to add the account system wide).

That being said a system wide “account” feature would make sense even with opt-in syncing between devices. This would be accounts beyond mail / calendar and could include things like password managers, backup solutions and more. Basically any account that in practice is used on and off the device between potentially multiple apps.

  34. Based on how even Luke doesn't really understand what you're trying to say about these iOS/iPhone issues, in the upcoming video you will have to explain everything extremly clearly for people to comprehend what you're trying to say

  35. Soo whats with the plexi?

  36. Both iOS and android suck we just need to pick which flavor of suck we like better

  37. When I did the initial setup on my iPhone, I used their app to transfer over from android. And it automatically got all my gmail accounts. Didn't touch the mail app, you are right, it sucks.

  38. Uh iOS is counter intuitive. Androd is much better by far!

  39. Android is factually NOT better than ios. As proven by benchmarks and how the majority rates their user experience with ios taking the clear lead. On top of that is how unoptimized android is from a purely technical standpoint, resulting in lower performance, lower general lifespan, and lower battery life. If neither if you people can stay factual about tech and leave your opinion elsewhere, you shouldn't be watching a tech channel.

  40. Back in the day, most towns had festivals/celebrations for the harvest at the time. For example, "I went to the Wheat dance/ball last weekend". Now insert the old name for canola. Doesn't have the same ring to it.

  41. So. How many steam decks are there? Isn't it just a few million?

  42. Resume @39:00

  43. EA and Respawn have always treated Linux poorly. Every other major update broke Linux which would take a week or 2 to fix. And EA has wanted to replace EAC with their own in house anti cheat for awhile. And EA makes more money off of windows and console for battle pass than Linux folks.

  44. The new MS Paint will not draw guns and banned me for a day for telling it to draw an AR15.

  45. Guys, I like you and I like wan show. But seriously, STOP EATING ON THE STREAM. Some of us listen to it like a podcast and having Linus chewing sounds on headphones is just off-puting.

  46. Hey Linus, as an iOS user who watches all of your videos, you nailed it on the teeth with the user accounts.
To confuse Luke less (hi Luke): you don't globally sign in to a Google account on iOS, but you DID before and some pieces of that are still left over. Everything was under where your iCloud account was in settings, and it would even sign in YouTube. Now it is just Calendar/Mail/Contacts that use this system.
This is also why backing out is often still the old "Back" button, but usually also the new swipe from the left, but also sometimes the newer swipe-card-down, but ALSO the tap X to exit, ORRRR tap outside the little window to dismiss.

  47. The real reason why they're blaming Linux is simple.
You cant use Kernel level stuff on Linux because anything outside of /home requires sudo permissions to be installed in as well as be modified.

When seeing aimbots in FPS games.
How many were really running linux or were running Windows.

LAMOBox was that running on windows or linux?
    Windows is the answer.

Bet EA still uses Punkbuster for anti cheat.
