It blows my mind that Sony would try to charge 50,000$. You’d think get as many dev’s on board and making a great gaming experience would be more important than gouging a little extra cash. I could understand if they were desperate for money at the time, but they we’re probably rolling in dough from all the ps2 sales.

there was a retro games store near me that had a nintendo reference tool. not sure which console, but i bet that thing was worth a couple grand more than the 500 they wanted for it.

Linus, I think you're a bit younger than me, this isn't related to gaming but some of the copy protection and region stuff gave me flashbacks to the early 00's to the Apex AD-600A DVD player. There were many of us that made a KILLNG flipping these things back in the day. See if you can get your hands on one and check it out. Don't know if it's video worthy but some of us would enjoy.

Ps3 was still ok but ps4 ps5 can't play ps3 games, many of us miss the ps3 why have Sony not made backwards compatible?

I still have an original release day psp and the battery is still really strong. Actually can’t believe it hasn’t died and holds a charge as well as it does especially since I don’t use it much.

Why is a reference tool needed anyway for testing purposes after the console is released and you could just buy them and jailbreak if necessary?

Maybe you should have taken care of your controllers, I have Sixasis controllers from the day the original PS3 launched that still work and hold a charge for a decent amount of time.
