I love the Steam Deck, but unfortunately it can be a bit loud and runs kinda hot.. well today we change that.

This is too cool to exist
The dude thats with Linus in the red hat, where have i seen him before? I know on here but does he have his own youtube channel? Is there an actor that looks like him or something? Lol.
17:26 – true big brain time
looks like a turbo steamdeck
Should have just put the fan blowing on the plate without the HR-09
I remember just slapping a thick chunk of thermal paste between the bottom of my macbook and the cpu and the temps like halved lol. To be compliant with IEC 60950-1, the cpus in handheld devices and laptops and such really have to suffer
why u need a laser cutter to cut a piece of paper?
Whats wrong why not to use a scissor, when u finally cut the hole with an air pressured hand dremel? -.-
Original CPU 99% 82'c – Cooler 99% 80'c
Clock Avg. 1985MHz – 2000MHz
Fan 5674 RPM – 5246 RPM
Almost Same LOL
is the same possible with the normal metal plate and thermal pads ? Would like to try the same cause it looks fun to do but well … i dont have a 100 k bucks machine.

We need something similar for gaming laptops.
Remove the standard cooler with that narrow profile tiny fans and pipes and small cooling block
Split the bottom cover into 2 parts so that you can insert a large cooler (like the desktop GPUs have). Literally if you disassemble a modern high end GPU, the actual GPU pcb is tiny and a huge block with fans takes care of the heat. So something of the same build logic.
A 1 – 1.5 inch thick cooling setup.
Right now,
1) gaming laptops are already used only while plugged in
2) gaming laptops are recommended to be used with the rear lifted into the air a little bit, so that airflow is better
Thus, having a thick radiator running under the laptop's rear from one end to the other won't be any inconvenience, and if you plan a trip, it won't be of much difference.
Gaming laptops aren't like those ultrabook less than 1cm in thickness.
Th gaming laptops are chunky boys.
Thus we need aftermarket serious cooling and sending a message to laptop manufacturers to stop screwing with the consumers and giving proper high performance GPU, with proper vram because there are ways to cool things down and make it useful.
Sent them 100 thousand dollar machine.
Can you put a peltier cooler on it, cool side on the processor and hot side mounted/soldered to a heatsink with a fan mounted on the heatsink? You get some really frosty temps using a thermoelectric cooler and I think it would be cool (pun intended) to see how low you can push it
"How much did i pay for this?"
Dad line detected.
I use nc headphones, fan way steam deck, fan away.
Anyone know dimensions of the tiny heatsink for the battery control chip
That drill reminds me of Will It Blend lol
OMG you guys are doing real science Alex is so cool love watching you two together 🙂
puts out hand Money Valve! 😛
I bought one recently and its the best gaming console ever.
you should try copper…….thermal conductivity is about 70% more
Linus: Go back to those times were you did all by hand work…Not everyone have a laser cutter and tormach cnc mill
why the heck do you need all that heatsink if it's the same temperature as before ? just slap a way thinner heatsink with a fan on top
$90 carbide bits? Last time I bought carbide bits they were like $300 for a set
A Peltier Cooler would be nice! Instead of a bulky heatsink. If you dont mind the usb c plug/powerbank. 😆😆😆😆😆😆😆😆.
And just think you could fab a few thousand of those a few guide stickers and you could charge 20 bucks and probably cover the cost of the tools used in this video.
Why this guy sound like Gru?
I believed it would increase the FPS! I don't think it was worth making the modification! But the work was really cool to watch. Congratulations guys!
