AMD ushered in the new generation of desktop CPUs with their Ryzen 7000 Series just last month, but Intel is clapping back in a major way with the Core i9-13900K and Core i5-13600K. Can Team Red afford to sit on their AM5/Ryzen laurels? Or will Intel’s 13th Gen give them a run for their money… and customers? Find out by watching our review!

  1. Sorry for the mislabeled charts around 1:00. We actually fixed these before publishing but the old versions made it into the video. We are examining our processes so that we don't have these issues in the future. We hope to release a new version of this video with the fixes implemented right away.

  2. The meaning of these statistics change slightly when you realise that (at the time of posting this comment) AMD Ryzen 7600X costs almost $100 less than the Intel core i5-13600K

  3. Still gonna buy AMD because Intel is just Nvidia of the CPU world

  4. After the new AMD 3d chips come out in Feb its going to be an interesting benchmark battle.

  5. Intel 7 process == 10nm, right?

  6. Is intel 13th gen still support rtx 2000 series(pcie 3.0)??
I have plan to upgrade procie and mobo first, and then upgrade my rtx 2070 super to rtx 3000 series later..

  7. Went from a 9700k to a Ryzen 9 5900x and now i just bought a i9 13900k need to buy a new cooler sadly since i lost some of the intel parts for the aio before i can see whats up With a 4080

  8. Great now i need to listen to megadeath for a few weeks

  9. I wonder what would happen if you actually used AMD with an AMD New Gen GPU, with all tricks done. Using a Nvidia GPU with an AMD seems to bottle neck it without using the Infinity cache fully.

  10. I don't get the "4090 changes everything" section of this video at all. There's a lot of other videos (HW unboxed) using a 4090 and the 5800X3D processor, and it still beats the competition a lot. And 4K CPU comparisons absolutely DO matter, in some games on other videos there's a good 30fps difference between a 5600x and a 5800X3D paired with a 4090 That's a whole PS4 of performance difference.
Or in the instance of another HW unboxed video, the 7600x is a massive 71 FPS faster and the 13600k AT 4K thats HUGE.

TLDR please include 4K results in testing, and I don't see how the 4090 makes the 5800X3D any less relevant.

  11. Average user does'nt care about "10% more productivity" he cares about price. It's all the same processors with different price. Same about videocards

  12. Still have to give 100% credit for breaking the monopoly & forcing this to happen. Competition is always the better for the consumer.

I JUST bought a 5600x and installed it YESTERDAY!!! I dont even have windows installed until i get home…. I got it on black friday sale for 150$. To hear its aging already and after so many people recommended it to me is really a bummer. In a year or two, my next pc is going to be balling. No more than year old parts.

Anthony looks like he lost 2 ounces. Way to Go 🦨 Looking Good!🤣

  13. Just pressed the like button 3 times coz that's how good this video was. Thank you.

  14. I got a 12100F and was expecting it to suck every now and again… MAN! WAS I WRONG!, I fking love it, can't wait for entry-level 13th gen

  15. What is compelling here, is the idea of buying a cheap ddr4 board now, and the top of the line cpu, ,and getting ddr5 ram and board later.

  16. no gaming benchmarks for the i7 13700? ): I thought you built a super expensive labs team for that Linus

You need to stop touting the new king of CPU performance when your tests are rigged. Re-run all your tests on a level playing field, or at the very least make it clear that your tests are rigged and that you are OK with that.

It has been widely known for nearly two years at this point that Windows 11 and AMD CPUs is not a great match. Fairly often a Microsoft patch or update is pushed to Windows 11 which knee-caps the performance of AMD while at the same time boosting the performance of Intel P/E core CPUs.

Re-run those same tests in Windows 10…. Intel may not show quite as favorably.

Better yet, re-run the tests (at least those you can) on Linux where back-door dealings with Intel and Microsoft are not possible.

  17. from 5800H to intel 13th gen or amd 7th gen on laptop when it get released, worth it?

  18. Rip my 5600X lol, me who thought it was quite good

  19. ryzen still better cause power draw, and overall cpu mark!

  20. in which world is the 13900k 100$ cheaper then the ryzen 9??

  21. I have the Intel 12700H

  22. for video editing , is it ok to use this i5 13th gen with lower spec motherboard and lower spec graphic card such as gtx 1050ti ?
if not, what is your lowest would you go for video editing pc?

please help, i want to build the chepest best oe pc

  23. chao

  24. The fact that you need to lower resolution to show any meaningfull difference in gaming performance proves that there is no real difference. Who would buy top CPU to play 200+ frame rate at 1080p. Of course it would be 1440p at highest preset or 4k at high. Both AMD and Intel high end CPU's make sense only if you need them for productivity.

  25. I have Intel's Core i9 specs page up on my other monitor. They don't make any claim about it being able to show 4K (4096 x 2160 pixels) graphics. Their highest graphics listed is UHD (3840 x 2160 pixels).

  26. my poor 5600x 🙁

    Try exipure

  27. 13900k user: pls decrease the CPU voltage to somewhere around 1.25-1.30v to get a much better thermal management.

  28. When it comes to processors, Intel never disappointed me. I used my i5 4690k for over 5 years without having any issues. I recently upgraded to i5 12600k and I am super happy with it.

  29. dude i thought your finger was uncircumcised for a bit there.

  30. U can get 5800x3d 32gb ram and mobo for the price of 13900k..

  31. Run AMD run, my raptor is comming after you 😈

  32. I have the i5 8600, but now I'm waiting for the i9 13900k to arrive for my rtx 4090 video card <3………..i5 8600 on ultra settings games consumes 90%, but rtx 4090 consumes 20% of its power

  33. Gaming is a WORK-load?

  34. I have
    7600x
    Asrock x670e pro rs
    G Skill 6400MHz CL32
    6700xt
Evrething is wow, but 100% intel 13 gen overall is the best

  35. Always fun to watch Intel and AMD duke it out for the fastest chips.

  36. Andrew! Great to see you, haven’t watched any of your videos in awhile, but as always you’re my CPU guru.

  37. Yeah, but try putting 128GB of DDR5 RAM on a new Mobo and you will have some surprised. Can only reach POST if I underclock my 5600 mem to 4000

  38. You're smart, funny, entertaining and you look like Jabba Hut. I't can't get any better! Great show 🙂

  39. Thanks man my 5000 series was a piece of trash till that last plug. HAHA

  40. You may have thought of this. To visualize energy use better, you could add watts as a divisor. In short performance /watts. The inverse may work as well. I think a FPS by watt chart will challenge the idea of just chasing CPU performance.

  41. I have a i7 9th gen am I outdated with a 1650

  42. So I want an i5-13600k workstation with integrated graphics for a basic workstation and server for 4k cameras. What's your recommended build?

  43. God dammit I love you. Haha. So did I see that right, we're "comfortable" still recommending air coolers for these cpus. I've been nervous about aios with minor risks and expensive costs vs Noctua and Be Quiets coolers. They are just awesome air coolers.

  44. I still trust AMD to provide more cost effective upgrade paths. The AM4 socket lasted a significant number of CPU generations. I expect similar from AM5. Intel upgrades seem to pretty much guarantee spiraling out of control as you are forced to upgrade things well beyond the CPU.

  45. God skin noble
